Film scholar Chika Kinoshita, Ph.D (Chicago) calls Davidson’s cinematography in the film The Resurrection an example of “stunning lighting and composition” that evokes Vermeer. It is through this connection to a rich lineage of image-makers that award-winning Director of Photography Michael Jari Davidson works in his passionate dedication to the art and craft of cinematography.

With just over five years experience in the film industry, Michael has five feature films under his belt, as well as 20+ short dramatic works and 25+ music videos and commercials shooting for industry leaders such as Legendary Pictures, LLC (del Toro's Pacific Rim: Still Seas), Activision (Call of Duty: Operation Kingfish), Columbia Records, WalMart USA and Fangoria Magazine. Fangoria calls Davidson's cinematography in the film Familiar "gorgeous". Davidson's work has been highlighted in magazines such as Canadian Cinematographer and Kodak's InCamera, as well as broadcast on SuperChannel and MuchMusic.

In March 2010, Davidson was named as a Director Ex-Officio of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers. In August 2010, Davidson was welcomed to the membership as a Director of Photography in I.A.T.S.E. 667, the International Cinematographers Guild. Signing with Toronto agent Charlotte Rose at Green Light Artist Management in January of 2011 opened a new chapter in Davidson's growing career.
